I Am looking to raise £5000 to fund my law degree at the University of Nottingham

My name is Mavis Chipfupa, a 23 year old Zimbabwean. I recently accepted an offer from the University of Nottingham for an undergraduate degree law programme.

Why law?

At the age of 17 I already knew where I wanted my life to go. I was a hard worker in secondary school in order to qualify for any university of my choosing. My goal was to become a human rights lawyer. Unfortunately, the political and economic crisis in my country had a direct effect on my life. I was accepted into a handful of universities nevertheless I was unable to finance my future. I was eligible to obtain an undergraduate degree but financially incapable.

I ended up in Berlin Germany, upon the passing away of my mother, where I went to german school and babysitting. I wasn’t happy. I had stopped dreaming. Until someone asked me . “What do you see yourself doing?” I responded,“Defending people’s rights in the court of law.”I took a leap of faith and applied to Nottingham.

Where will the money go?

The international student fee is £16320

Thus far am looking to raise £5000 To cover a quarter of the fees.

What is the minimum?

The minimum is £2500 Which will cover the deposit required.

What is the maximum?

If I cover more than half of the fees £12000 it would really help. So far I want to keep it at a realistic number whilst I research scholarships and loans.

I would like to thank everyone who will support me in my quest for a better future.

I will send a handwritten letter to everyone who contributes or donates. It will be personalised and well thought out.

Thank you!
