Moving to online teaching during the pandemic showed us that digital inclusivity and the absence of access to practical, but essential, things like laptops and reliable internet connection, can have a significant impact on a student’s potential to succeed.

Now, as we plan for a mixed online and in person approach to teaching in the autumn, the university is working hard to support all of our students. However, we have a particular need to support students who don’t have the digital access required to learn. The university is providing laptops loans, but we need your help to raise money for internet connectivity to ensure students education can continue without these barriers.

Thanks to generous donations over the past few months nearly 100 students have already benefited from your help!

AS little as £20 a month can give a student ESSENTIAL INTERNET access.

This will enable them to access all their online tutorials and seminars, as well as one-to-one sessions with their tutors. They will also be able to access online resources via the library.

We know from the COVID-19 Student Fund, which ran from March - August, that 20% of students who applied needed support to fund internet connections. We also know that 40% of applicants  were from the lowest socio-economic groups in the UK. Please help us support our most in need students.

Any donation you give, will make a difference to a BRIGHTON student.
