The Ursuline Preparatory Ilford School is an established Roman Catholic independent school and nursery for boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 11, and part of the worldwide network of Ursuline schools. At The Ursuline Prep School we aim to give each child the best possible start in life. As well as having extremely rigorous academic standards along with high expectations of behaviour, we provide pastoral support appropriate to the needs of each unique child in our care. The National Curriculum provides the basis for our programmes of study, but these are enhanced and enriched to reflect the calibre of our pupils. We encourage pupils to participate in the extensive range of activities and especially our nursery, reception, Year 1 and Year 2 . We are a small school that provides a friendly, secure, happy and stimulating environment and are extremely proud of each and every one of our pupils. However, our technology is currently living in dark ages and our staff are willing to make a push into the new Digital Curriculum.
We would like to purchase four Lenovo tablets with protective cases and SanDisk Ultra microSDHC 32GB Memory Card with Adaptor which can be used and benefit Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
The Lenovo tablets are for our Early Years Foundation Stage. Every child is supported to reach their full potential through accessing the latest technologies. It will be used in ICT after school club as well as during ICT classes.
We need Lenovo tablets to enhance and give students an additional learning layer, beyond the traditional classroom, school library or book. They will provide students with multiple opportunities to access content and engage with curriculum. Our children are the youngest in the school but already digitally literate when they start with us. The Ursuline Nursery Ilford school has made observations which inform us that they find it difficult to use a mouse and keyboard on a laptop and can't show us their full ability. A tablet computer does everything your laptop does but in a small, portable flat form with a touch screen. Children develop an aptitude for technology, which is an important skill now and more so in the future. Technology will be a part of his or her school learning. It is reasonable for children to explore this world at an early age. Children may even be curious about what’s behind technology and be interested in learning to code, which has many benefits. The introduction of applications in the education sector has led to the introduction of new learning methods. There are fun games available on mobile applications such as art, literacy, maths, phonics, programming that indulge the students into a healthy thought process and help them understand things from a different perspective.
