Our Project

...the soon-to-be MA graduates of The School of Jewellery Birmingham 2014. INTILL-material matters is our final exhibition: the polished, professional product of the blood, sweat and tears (really!!) spent during an intensive 12 months tied to our benches.

Most art schools and universities host a final show for BA and MA students and the School of Jewellery is no different.  As with everywhere else the professor and her team encourage us students to organise it, why? Because it's a great idea, it will count toward our final mark and it is the finishing line for our time in Brum; it is also a great opportunity to show family, friends, galleries, potential employers and industry professionals what we've really been doing at university. And, importantly, showcasing our work to the world in the hope that we can improve our employment prospects.

We think its going to be the show of the year. Come and see for yourself on 6th September until 25th September 2014 at Birmingham School of Jewellery.

The Million Dollar Question

Non-arty types may be unaware, but art and design courses are EXPENSIVE! Tuition fees aside, if we want to make something awesome, it's pretty likely material costs will rise exponentially with our ambition - especially when creating final pieces for our exhibition.

Our exhibition costs will be;

  • Catalogue, invite cards and posters…. £2500
  • Private View evening; nibbles etc…. £300
  • Exhibition costs, plinths, nuts and bolts etc…. £500

Total       £3300

WE are aiming to secure some of these in kind and through local support, but still need to find £1800 to ensure the show will do justice to our fabulous work.
