Our project

Little Chalfont is an Outstanding Primary School based in Buckinghamshire, with 250 pupils aged 4 – 11 years. We believe that working together with parents and the community achieves even greater success for our pupils!

What do we want?

We would like to buy Roli (the latest high tech musical instruments) and also upgrade our website in order to give our students a platform to show their work to the parents and community that have supported them in purchasing this technology.

Seaboard Block

  • Seaboard Block is a super powered keyboard with 5D touch technology.  It has 24 keywave, which allows you to play in two-octaves.  Additionally, there are 200+ free sounds and a suite of music making software compatible with a desktop or mobile device.

Lightpad Block M

  • 225 micro-keywaves

Who is it for?

This is for all of our pupils, from nursery to year 6.

Why do we want it?

We currently don't have the equipment to really immerse and inspire children in the modern, digital age of music production. We therefore need to give them the opportunity to learn, enjoy and embrace technology and it's capabilities

We would like to give all of our children the opportunity to become digital music makers and enhance our current music curriculum.  Whilst we still want them to learn to play traditional instruments such as the recorder, piano and ukulele, we would like to introduce digital keyboards, beatmaker kits and apps that allow pupils to learn to manage the sound recording and production of a band or performer's music. This technology will enable our pupils to understand and experience the sound recording and mixing stages of producing music – perhaps even inspiring future career choices.

Our second aim is to develop the skills of our newly formed digital leader team and allow them to become webpage developers.  We would like them to have their own section to promote e-safety and also add animations, blogs, photos and videos to the class pages of our current website.
