Our project

We are Manor School Didcot Academy Trust. We have almost 500 pupils on roll & we are a busy, vibrant and energetic school community.  We believe that all pupils are entitled to learn in a supportive and enriching school environment and strive to ensure that all pupils are given the necessary challenge and support in order to reach their potential.

Manor School is currently undergoing some big changes. The whole school community are working hard to grow and develop our school provision.

For 2017-2018 our priorities are improving the provision for SEN pupils, supporting the national drive to close the Pupil Premium attainment gap and ensuring that even our most able learners are given opportunities to really broaden their knowledge and understanding.

What do you want?

We want to replace some of our classroom electronic whiteboards.

Who is this for?

This is for a number of our classrooms across the school.

Why do you want it?

A number of our classrooms have ageing technology. The current interactive whiteboards are temperamental and need re-configuring/realigning several times per day.

This is disruptive to our students and interrupts them learning.

Interactive white boards/monitors create a more meaningful, socially rich experience than spoken word tutorials alone, they can provide the opportunity for students to engage directly during lessons. Touch technology allows ‘hands-on’ manipulation of content, encouraging students to work collaboratively with their peers

New interactive touch screen monitors will allow seamless learning and allow students to engage in the visuals of their lesson content with much greater graphics/quality.

Some of the enhanced functionality new monitors/whiteboards can bring to the classroom are:

  • Broadcast learning content on the teachers PC/laptop to an entire class.
  • Highlight text plus add notes and annotations.
  • Record or save lessons and electronically share them or print them out.
  • Display various media such as web, text, images, video and music to compliment the curriculum in a teacher-directed activity
