Special needs coding opportunity!

We have 20 complex needs children, all of whom will use the OZOBOTS!

We are the 5th most deprived school in the county of Wiltshire; your help WILL make a difference.

Number of students that will benefit: 20 (+ whole school when we're not using them)

Age of students: 4-11

Percentage eligible for free school meals: 34%

We would initially like to purchase 12 double packs of Ozobots to enable the children (who are educated in our complex needs resource base setting) to access coding!

What do we want?

Having borrowed some of these and seen the impact, ease of use and immediate joy of success they enabled our special needs children to experience, we would desperately like to purchase some of our own to be able to use them more frequently and develop the coding skills of our children. The immediate joy of achievement by drawing a line and seeing the mini Ozobot robot follow this was immeasurable for children with physical, emotional, social and mental difficulties; they all achieved success!

Who is this for?

Initially these will be used in the complex needs resource base. And when they are not using them they will loan them out to other mainstream year groups, including our onsite nursery (which caters for vulnerable 2 year olds) as well as the 200+ children throughout the rest of the school. The opportunities are, as they say, endless!

Why do we want it?

The Ozobot robots will enable children with complex physical, social, communication and emotional difficulties to access the IT coding curriculum in a fun and engaging way which gives immediate results.

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy cases for the project, and as many Ozobots as we could buy!
