Sport Brighton staff member Ben Letschka (pictured right) is running the Brighton Half Marathon dressed as the University of Brighton sports team mascot Panther Pete. Ben is taking on this feat to raise funds to support the University of Brighton Student Taylor Morris (pictured left). Taylor is looking to raise the funds needed to travel to South Africa in May to represent England's Deaf Rugby Team.
Sport Brighton staff member Ben enjoys running and a challenge! Ben will be looking to run the Brighton Half Marathon on the 23rd February dressed as everyone's favourite mascot. Ben is hoping for a nice cool day as the suit will no doubt be hot. Not wanting to get the new look Panther Pete suit sweaty Ben will be wearing Panther Pete's younger look from 2015. Help cheer and support Ben on his journey around the course.
Taylor is a first year Physiotherapy student at the University of Brighton. Taylor is also on Sport Brighton's scholarship programme as a performance athlete having represented the England Deaf Rugby team. Taylor also plays for the University of Brighton men's rugby 1st team.
Taylor was born with a deformity which meant he had no eardrum/hole in his right ear. His hearing is normal in his left ear. Taylor has a passion for rugby and got his first England call up against Wales last year.
