We are a new primary school in Harlow and have only been open for 3 years. Our reception class consists of 31 children including those with SEN. The school is based in the ward of Great Parndon which is traditionally one of the most deprived towns. We have the highest percentage of EAL students in the town.

What we want

We would really like 3x iPads with cases and secure storage for overnight, weekends and holidays.

Who is this for?

They will be primarily for our reception class and will be used in all aspects of their learning. They can be used in phonics, maths and literacy lessons as well as during child initiated learning.

Why we want it

We would really like iPads for our children to enhance their learning experience as they only have the interactive whiteboard to use in class at the moment. Our children are the youngest in the school but are already digitally literate when they start with us. With today's technology generally being touch screen, our children find it difficult to use a mouse and keyboard on a laptop and can't show us their full ability. However, if we had some iPads for the children to access in all areas of their learning we would be able to support and extend the children further. There are many educational apps for the children to access which covers all areas of learning, including phonics, literacy, maths, programming, digital art and especially learning how to use the internet safely.
