Thank you again for your contribution to this campaign. All your pledges have now been processed, and I am delighted to report not only that the table and chair are now safely in the Yamada Room of the Library but also that I have introduced them to two Pembroke students writing dissertations on Hughes’s work. They were visibly moved. Please make sure that you come and inspect these treasures when you are next in College. We really appreciate your help in making this possible.

Thank you so much to every one of our generous sponsors! I am thriilled to say that we have now met our target, and Ted Hughes’s writing desk and chair will soon — as Pat Aske says — be part of the furniture at Pembroke. It is really wonderful to see the range of sponsors: students, members of staff, Fellows, Bye-Fellows, alumni and friends of the College have all contributed. Any further contributions received will be used to meet the costs of transporting the desk and chair to Pembroke, and then be put towards the purchase cost of the copy of Animal Poems I describe in the video. I will be in touch again when they arrive in College. In the meantime, thank you so much once more.

Very best wishes,

Mark
