What is UMBC MTC?

UMBC Musical Theatre Club is the only group to annually produce a licensed, full-length musical on the UMBC campus. The theatre, music, and dance departments at UMBC offer separate performance opportunities, but do not collaborate to put on musicals. Every year, we do a large spring musical, a small fall musical, and a fall musical review.

As the second-largest club on campus, MTC impacts many students. Our spring musical provides hands-on experience with the production of a full-scale musical to more students than any of our other productions throughout the year. MTC challenges students to engage in collaborative endeavors to create cohesive artistic products. We engage and inspire audience members from UMBC students, to local community members, to visiting family members, who time after time are surprised that students are producing the quality of theatre we present. Providing this level of licensed theatre produced by students of all experience levels is what makes MTC special. Through our unique role on the UMBC campus, MTC provides a valuable means of artistic expression to students that connects them with the community through the theatrical arts.

We are asking for your support to fund our next student-voted, student-produced spring musical, Big Fish!
