About our school
We are a 3 form entry school in South Harrow and are currently challenged by an ever decreasing school budget, as many schools are. Despite this, we remain ambitious and strive to provide the best learning opportunities for our children, so they may be as successful as possible.
What do we want?
We would like to buy a range of technology specifically for use in Early Years.
Who is this for?
This technology will mainly be used in nursery and reception classes. Some will also be shared across Key stage 1 (years 1 and 2), particularly the Bluebots, which are used as a first step in learning coding as part of the computing curriculum in Key stage 1.
Why do we want it?
Children in Early Years are introduced to technology and computers by using technological toys and real objects such as operating cameras or CD players. We have some technology e.g. light boxes, a set of remote controlled cars and a CD player which encourages a range of skills amongst our children such as fine motor development, pre-writing skills, hand and eye coordination, colour recognition and sensory play. These resources are currently shared over the three reception classes and nursery, and therefore we are desperately in need of further technology so each class can have their own resources to ensure that our children receive the most engaging experience possible and their learning opportunities are maximised.
Thank you to everyone who has generously donated so far! We have been fortunate enough to reach our initial target, and are now aiming to reach our stretch target of £3000 . We would love to use this money to buy an iPad for the classrooms and another 1-2 sets of Blue bots.
Please do donate, but if you can't donate right now you can help us in other ways! Share this project with anyone you think would support us. Share the link at the top of the page on Twitter, Facebook, email, your website, blog, mention us in a phone call or even just a chat over the fence! You could also ask local businesses if they can donate. Please support us and help make a difference to our students.
Select this reward if you just want to donate to the project without receiving a reward.
