Alumni of the University of Essex matchfunded £1,000

I'm raising £3000 to do such an amazing thing as teaching English in Madagascar. It will improve children's and adult's knowledge in rural areas where access to education is limited. As there is a lack of foreign-language teachers and schools are severely under-funded, my contribution to the Malagasy community would make a significant change.
My name is Agnieszka and I study Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the University of Essex. I am a pro-active and hard working student, passionate about travelling and self-development. I believe that this project will help me gain invaluable experience relevant to my future career and will set me apart from other graduates, enhancing my employability when I finish my studies. Moreover, I am pleased to be given an opportunity to travel to this incredible destination and have an impact on the local community.
I believe that taking part in this amazing, eye-opening project will help me not only to grow as a person and become more socially aware but also to immerse myself in and adapt to a new culture.
I aim to get my first real professional experience and relevant qualification and combine them with my passion to travel.
As a teacher I will be challenged to give children and adults a sense of confidence, encourage their enthusiasm and ambition and even improve their opportunities for the future. I will have to demonstrate my flexibility, creativity and initiative as average classes range between 60 - 70 students! I am sure that during the project I will be as challenged as I will be rewarded, and my help will make a significant change for those in need.
I am preparing some amazing rewards to thank everyone for support, no matter what amount you donate. Make sure you check them out!
