AMWHO UMBC is a student organization that aims to prepare for the annual AMWHO International Conference as well as broadening our knowledge in public and global health through the means of general body meetings and snack & learns. These meetings are a chance to meet one another to discuss health issues and to hear from UMBC professors about their careers and research studies.
This will be our first time attending the AMWHO International Conference and we need your support to get us there!
Every spring, teams from all over the world come together in simulating the World Health Organization General Assembly. At the conference, we discuss a pressing health issue outlined by the hosting university and individuals are assigned to represent a country, non-governmental organization, news/media group, or pharmaceutical company. We are given the chance to research and present policy proposals on how to create better health outcomes for the issue addressed and are also able to network with other aspiring professionals that share interests in public and global health.
This conference is a fantastic place to practice real world applications pertaining to health that we learn from our classes at UMBC. It's also a great opportunity to network and meet other students from across the country! We aim to send at least 8 students to this year's conference being held at UNC Chapel Hill! With your support, we can make this happen!
Our goal of $4,000 will help us cover registration costs for 8 people, hotel reservations for 3 days and 3 nights, and costs to cover transportation fees.
We believe our organization can reach greater heights! With your help, we will have the ability to attend the national conference and leave a remarkable impression as UMBC students wherever we go!
As we venture towards our goal, we thank you for taking the time in visiting our page and donating!
All funds raised are administered by the UMBC Foundation for the benefit of UMBC.
