MY project

Hello, I'm Zoë, a contemporary fine artist embarking on a post-grad in Art Psychotherapy Practice this September, at Sheffield Hallam University, to begin a fulfilling career as an Art Therapist. All proceeds from my hubbub campaign will contribute towards the cost of the course.

There’s no pastime I love more than painting and now I want to share my gift of painting with you by immortalising your beloved pets in my own unique artistic style. My hand-painted pet portraits, in oil, are undoubtedly, a labour of love.

In return for a £150 donation I am offering my supporters an original framed oil portrait of your beloved pet, like the ones I’ve painted above.

So, who am I ?

I'm a devoted Mum and an avid painter and appreciator of the arts. Part-time, I'm a Criminal Justice support worker for a charity working with vulnerable women with complex needs, an extremely rewarding role within which I feel my Postgrad teachings will be put to beneficial practice. To relax, I practice yoga and meditation. I love music and regularly attend music venues. I love visiting new places, attending exhibitions and meeting up with friends.

My story

Now in my forties, and after two decades working within the design industry, whilst single-handedly raising my two girls, I am pursuing a new and exciting career path to become an Art Therapist. I have successfully secured an unconditional place through Leeds Beckett University to study a Masters in Art Psychotherapy Practice, commencing this September. The course is BAAT's officially recognised route to becoming a Health Care Professions Council accredited Art Therapist. I wholeheartedly believe that working hard and facing challenges with courage and commitment radiates through the whole family, which is, for me, the ultimate achievement. I can only achieve this by raising the tuition fees myself so all you kind generous supporters need to keep me busy painting between now September !

The reason I want to become an Art Therapist is because painting has proactively helped me acknowledge, reflect upon and overcome some personal difficulties around traumatic events and relationships. I struggled to articulate my emotions verbally and I found an inner strength in the process of painting. For me, it has been an effective therapy which I’m now passionate about sharing with, and passing on, to others.

By donating to my campaign I will be able to pass on invaluable therapeutic visual art practices to individuals battling with the debilitating effects of trauma. If you can, please donate to help me pursue my studies. There are a number of ways you'll be rewarded (keep reading!).

Where will the money go?

All your support will go towards funding my tuition fees. If I hit my minimum target, it will cover the outstanding sum required to cover my first year of tuition fees. If I hit my full target, your support will cover one whole year's tuition fees. If I exceed my target your support could potentially cover the total tuition fees for the full course !

Breakdown of costs:

  • £3,800 per year tuition fees
  • £11,400 total tuition fees
