This Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trip focuses on the link between creative expression and community well-being. UMBC students will explore street murals, music, community art, and more across Baltimore to learn about their impact on the community. At the end of the our ASB trip, students will have a better understanding of how creative expression contributes to the Baltimore community and how students can harness the power of their own creative expression to contribute to their communities.
We are trying to raise $2,250 so that UMBC students can attend this 6 day trip for a greatly reduced cost. Supporting this trip directly impacts each student so they can fully experience the trip without the financial burden.
Hey, I'm Pat, the trip leader. I am a junior studying Global Studies and Mathmatics with an interest in pursuing education. I had an amazing experience on the ASB Homelessness Trip in Spring 2017, and I learned a lot about community expression and engagement in Sacramento, California when I attended the Imagining America conference in the Fall of 2018. I am hoping to tie in my own experiences with community expression while also incorporating the knowledge, experiences, and backgrounds that all trip participants have to make a personalized and unique experience for everyone.
We would greatly appreciate your support! Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.
All funds raised are administered by the UMBC Foundation for the benefit of UMBC.
