A short summary of my mission
I am aiming to fundraise for my ultimate goal of studying my dream vocation, medicine, abroad in Australia. My lifelong goal is to give back to the community and use my passion for people and science for the benefit of every person's life I manage to cross.
Who are you?
I am Bethany, a 24 year old aspiring doctor. Since I was young, I have been dedicated to the lifelong goal of becoming a doctor - unfortunately I my confidence and personal circumstances got the better of me and I put this dream to the side. However, with time and life experience, including my proudest moment of becoming a first generation graduate from the University of Exeter (UK) in Biological Sciences BSc (Hons), my confidence and self-awareness has grown. I am now ready to embark on this challenge and I cannot be more thrilled to do so.
Unfortunately, my dreams of studying abroad cannot be funded solely. I have taken 2 years out of education thus far to save as much money as possible from my corporate job. However, the more I progress the more I am realising I require external help to help reach my goal, and this is where you come in.
Summary of my background and story
- Ever since I can remember I have been driven by the prospect of helping others; throughout my early teens and in to adult life I consistently volunteer my time with charities, most namely mental health facilities. My most recent endeavor is signing up as a telephone listener at Samaritans to aid those who are currently going through a tough time in life.
- I would love to go further than this and be in a place where I accumulate knowledge and combine this with my passion for helping people's lives through bettering their health and quality of life.
- My confidence, ambition and passion has grown throughout my educational development - I have the confidence that I can really change my world and others around me.
- Your donations will help me realise my goal of pursuing medicine and give me a platform I will excel at, and give back to the community, helping those less fortunate than myself. It is a true gift of life I am hoping to reach.
Where will the money go?
- Every single penny will go towards paying to study medicine at university - from textbooks, study materials and the course cost itself
- If I am able to cover the cost of tuition, any additional funds will be reinvested in to scientific and medical causes. One extremely close to my heart and own personal circumstances is in the field of mental health and suicide prevention.

- Annual tuition for study: $80,000 AUD (x4 years for study)
- Annual predicted living costs: $30,000 AUD
- Annual predicted study materials: $750 AUD
