Cadoxton Community Primary School is situated in Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan. There are 330 pupils on roll. The majority come from homes which are in a Communities First area and most come from backgrounds which have some degree of social or economic disadvantage. Thirty-six per cent are considered eligible for free school meals, which is above the local authority (LA) and national averages. Thirty-six per cent of pupils are considered to have some degree of additional learning needs (ALN) which is also above the local and national averages, three of whom have statements of special educational needs (SEN).
What do you want?
We would like 6x iMac computers with editing software.
Who is this for?
This is for our whole school: all children and classes have access to the 'Maker Space'.
Why do you want it?
We would like to develop our 'Maker Space', which is a creative room that children across the school have access to. We recognise the need for our children to develop their digital literacy skills and would like to equip our 'Maker Space' with ICT resources that will allow our children to explore and experiment creatively within digital media.
Having a fully resourced 'Maker Space' will benefit our children in fulfilling their potential to become enterprising creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work in an ever-evolving job market. We believe it is essential for our children to have the best education in Digital Competency and to be given the opportunities to work with resources that allow them to develop and master ICT skills.
