We're taking on The Great York Walk to raise funds for Mentally Fit York - an initiative on mental health at the University and the City of York. Mental ill-health doesn't discriminate, it affects people from all backgrounds, and Covid has brought new challenges. So together with loads of other people - some with a connection to York, some without - the Jeffery family are going to be counting their daily steps for the next three months (10th May - 31st July) as a contribution to the overall goal of 25,000 miles - that's the equivalent of a walk all the way round the Earth! Please donate anything you can to help reach our fund-raising target and improve mental health in York and beyond! :) (P.S. If you want to join us on the walk, you can sign up here.)
Our walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York students, grants for mental health nursing students, suicide-prevention training, research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services, or a range of other initiatives selected by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates.
