At Forest Park Primary School in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, we have 460 children on roll from Nursery to Year 6. The Hanley / Cobridge area is above the national averages of levels of social deprivation. Many of our parents have poor basic skills or have English as an additional language.
However, our pupils are well motivated, have a positive attitude, and are keen to experience new challenges which helps them to access the curriculum.
Here at Forest Park it is our job to raise the children's aspirations and provide new experiences and challenges to enable our children to reach their full potential.One way we are doing this is by focusing on our children's skills in speaking and listening. We have recently signed up to the English Speaking Board where teachers are focusing on improving several aspects of their children's ability to speak publicly; including the ability to talk about an interest for a few minutes, to ask and answer questions and read in front of an audience.
What we want
We would like to purchase GoPro camcorders and the necessary equipment.
Who is it for?
It's for use across the school, from Nursery to Year 6.
Why we want it
We'll use the cameras & equipment to support the teaching of many different curriculum areas. We'll also use them to enthuse children to produce their own movies and to capture aspects of their learning in a creative way. This is a fantastic way to enable us to share our children's abilities with the outside world.
We would like to raise funds to purchase:
1X Go Pro accessory kit @ £79.99
5X GoPro Hero Session with memory card @ £172.00 each = £864.95
1 x GoPro Hero5 with memory card @ £387.98
Sub total = £1,332.92
Credit card fees (2%) = £26.66
Total = £1,359.58
We fully believe that every child should have the chance to sparkle and with your help we can achieve this.
