I'm raising $650 to serve as a student missionary in Hawaii, which I hope will have an incredible impact on myself and the school where I will be working.

Who am I?

My name is Alyssa Graham and I am an English Literature major, on track to be a teacher. I have been blessed to work with children for the majority of my life, and have a passion to teach them and show them Christ!

My story

I was called in an untraditional way to the mission field. Christ worked through my best friend to bring this work to my attention. Through a series of crazy events and the Student Missions training, a great passion for domestic mission work has grown in my heart. I am going to the Big Island of Hawaii, right outside of Hilo. Mauna Loa school is a close-knit community of Adventists, with the church being at the center! I have accepted the job of Office Manager and cafeteria support, which includes anything and everything that the administration needs of me! This wasn't the job I was expecting to receive! I applied for the teachers aide position, but when that position got filled, I learned that the call is often not what I want, but what Christ sees fit for your life!

Money is often a had thing to come by these days, but donating to mission trips, any and all, has such am impact of the person going and on those we're going to help. Not all of us are privileged to go to out to the mission field, but donors have the privilege of still having a deep impact on the mission work, through their financial generosity.

Every year over 60 student missionaries are sent out from Southern. As a group, we are collectively raising the funds to cover many of our needs including airfare, visas, insurance, training, and care packages. I have personally agreed to be responsible for raising $650 towards those needs. I can't do it alone. Anything you are willing or able to give towards the 2018-19 missionaries is greatly appreciated by not just myself but my fellow missionaries and those we will serve.

Throughout the year, I will be posting stories and experiences on my personal blog, and I would be so happy or you to read along and be blessed! Here is the link:

Thank you for your time and generosity! God bless!
