We're very excited to be taking on the Great York Walk on 28th May! We're walking this LONG way for Mentally Fit York because it's a project that's doing amazing things for mental health, improving access to vital support services for students as well as for people out in the local community.

We're both members of staff, so we've seen first hand how important it is for students (and staff) to have easy access to the support they need whilst at university.

We love walking, but it's going to be tough walking a marathon so please donate to this amazing cause & give us some motivation to TRAIN.

We NEED YOUR HELP!

We're taking on The Great York Walk, a 25 mile (40km) marathon walking event that will help to transform mental health by raising funds for Mentally Fit York at the University of York. Mental ill-health doesn't discriminate and whether we're experts in mental health or not, we should all be able to feel safe and supported in talking to each other about our mental health.

So together with a great community of people - some with a connection to York, some with no connection - we're going to walk 25 miles on the 28th May around York! The Great York Walk starts at the University, crossing Monk Stray, Bootham Stray, Clifton Ings, Hob Moor, Knavesmire, Fulford Ings and Walmgate Stray before heading back to the University campus.

Please donate anything you can to help our target and improve mental health in York and beyond! :) (P.S. If you want to find out more about the walk and the cause you can do so here)

about mentally fit york

Our walk will be in aid of Mentally Fit York, which will promote good mental health on a local, national and international scale. Your support will be used to fund initiatives such as 24/7 mental health support for York students and research projects to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.

Your support may also go towards providing suicide prevention training, Mental Health Nursing Scholarships or it could contribute to a range of other initiatives which are decided by an expert panel of mental health and wellbeing researchers, practitioners and advocates. Find out more about what Mentally Fit York has supported here.
