ImaginEng is a cooperative project which currently includes Angeline Pittenger, Casey Pierce and Leah Klump. Angeline has been teaching English and studying art in Barcelona for three years. She has a degree in Alternative Pedagogy and Visual Arts from Prescott College. Casey has been teaching English in Barcelona for seven years and is a stage and film actress and fiction writer. Leah Klump has been living in Barcelona for just over a year, teaching English and dance and singing jazz. She has been dancing swing since 2007. She has a degree in Spanish and Chinese Languages and Cultures.
ImaginEng started as an idea for a possible collaboration last fall. We began meeting as a collective in November and the project has been growing and transforming since. In the six months, we've renovated our space, developed a business plan and teaching model, and have taught workshops in dance, art, and theater.
Our vision is for students to experience
English learning through theater, art, dance and nature. We
encourage and inspire them to communicate, take risks and face challenges through play and
creativity.
If we hit our minimum of $1,500 we will be able to cover the fixed expenses (rent and insurance) until the end of September.
Hitting our target goal of $5,000 will mean that we can furnish our space (chairs, sturdy tables, white board, printer) buy classroom materials, pay for marketing and advertising costs, and guarantee a minimum salary for teachers while the business gets on its feet.
Any funds above the target goal will be earmarked for scholarships for students who otherwise would not be able to attend.
One of our values is economic transparency and we will give regular updates on the status of the school on our facebook page and website.
Please share this project with anyone and everyone you think would be interested. While not everyone has the resources to sponsor us, sharing our project with your own network is a great way to support us.
Select this reward if you just want to donate to the project without receiving a reward.
