I'm taking part in The Short York Walk to raise funds for mental health via Mentally Fit York. This cause is really close to my heart and is especially important now as we all face uncertain times, none more so than our young people.
I'm going to walk 25 miles over a 25 day period. (I'm one of the critically vulnerable people who've been asked to shield, so I'll be walking measured circuits around our home and garden.) It would mean so much to me if you could help me reach my target of £100.
Donations to Mentally Fit York will be used to fund amazing initiatives like the Big White Wall which offers 24/7 mental health support for York students, something I wish had been available when I was a student.
Your support will also help provide Mental Health Nursing Scholarships, to ensure that the NHS is equipped to deal with the increased demand for mental healthcare, and will help fund research projects looking to further our understanding of mental health issues and the barriers to accessing support services.
