Now I See

Students Restoring Eyesight Physically, Mentally, and Spiritually

Now I See is aiding with the growing issue of cataracts in India. Currently, there are 12 million people in India who suffer from cataracts and are in dire need of cataract surgery. Dr. Jacob Prabhakar is an ophthalmologist who has dedicated his time and worked tirelessly to perform over 12,000 surgeries in the last year alone to combat the growing issue of cataracts. Dr. Prabhakar has also efficiently developed a system to shorten the time for each surgery from shrinking the fifteen-minute procedure to around two minutes.

Who are we?

Now I See is an Enactus project led by students of Southern Adventist University. With the overwhelming spread of cataracts in India, our team has recognized a need for immediate action. By partnering with It  Is Written's project, Eyes for India, we are supporting Doctor Jacob Prabhakar. Our objective is to raise funds to further Doctor Jacob Prabhakar's efforts in India to create a sustainable business model to aid in the funding of cataract surgery.

Our story

Enactus is an international non-profit organization that brings together students, academic, and business leaders who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life and the standard of living for people in need.

  • We want to create a bridge between entrepreneurship and student missions
  • We are students who see the need of cataract surgery
  • We are people just like you who are passionate of the gift of sight

Where will the money go?

With only $75, Dr. Prabhakar has been able to:

  • Perform 456 cataract surgeries on average under two minutes daily
  • Pre and post operative care
  • Help cover travel expenses

With your help, we'll be able to:

  • Increase technology and surgery efficiency
  • Increase the amount of lives impacted
  • Create a permanent clinic for future cataract surgeries and student missionaries
