We are RGU Racing, an enthusiastic team of students at Robert Gordon University who design, build & race a single seat formula style race car. The project allows us to take what we learn in class and apply it to a real-world project. The team is made up from students studying various degree paths which allows us to integrate and work across specialties. The experiences and situations we are exposed to during the project provide an invaluable opportunity to develop ourselves beyond the classroom.
We are raising £10000 to compete at Formula Student 2020 which will allow our student race team to prepare for our first fully functional racing entry in 2021.
RGU Racing was founded in mid-2018 by a group of passionate and highly motivated engineering students. Over the following 12 months the small group prepared the initial designs for the 2019 FSUK Design Class entry (Concept Class). The teams first foray into the competition was successful with the Team finishing 9th in the Engineering Design Event & Top Scottish Team in the Concept Class. Since the success of our FSUK 2019 in the Summer, the team has grown in size and disciplines, with now over 45 active members.
Formula Student is the largest educational engineering competition in Europe. It sees University students from across the continent compete against each other with small formula style race cars. Teams are tested in a variety of static and dynamic challenges, assessing their engineering, management and business skills.
We are looking to raise a minimum of £1,000 with an ultimate goal of £10,000 which will help boost our performance to the max in the competition.
Our team will have their heads down working hard to ensure that our car is fully designed and optimised in key areas to ensure we produce our best ever FSUK entry.

Any additional funds we raise will go towards bringing additional team members to the competition and development of the power unit.
