Sedbergh School Foundation matchfunded £16,423
Sedbergh School has combined forces with The SpringBoard Bursary Foundation, their partner charities, local authorities and state day schools, to actively search for youngsters from the most disadvantaged social groups (with a joint family income of less than £15,000) who will truly benefit from a Sedbergh education. After selection these youngsters are assessed for their ability to thrive in a boarding school environment, then carefully prepared and finally matched to the most appropriate school. Critically, support for the pupil and his/her family from both SpringBoard and the other partner organisations is maintained throughout and beyond school. This formula has been proven to deliver real and positive results for the pupil, the school and the home community.
'The opportunities here are endless. I am privileged to have been given this chance of a life changing experience' Year 11 Roger Lupton Scholar
The Roger Lupton Scholarships Appeal has already raised £700,000 and supported the education of 9 pupils. We are now hoping to raise another £20,000 with this Christmas Challenge.
Because it is Christmas, every pound donated will be matched £ for £, giving you the chance of helping to raise £40,000 towards a scholarship and (with the contribution from SpringBoard) of providing a youngster with two precious years at Sedbergh School.
