The Senior Class of Theatre TCU needs financial assistance in funding their trip to NYC over Spring Break, 2022. Every year, except last, the Theatre TCU Seniors have headed to Manhattan to showcase their talents and take workshops with top industry agents and casting directors in hope of securing representation and work. It is essential that this class experience this valuable and career enhancing tradition.
We are theatre tcu's showcase class, comprised of two professors, Penny Maas and Alan shorter, as well as 18 of our bfa acting, BFA musical theatre, BFA Theatre Studies and BA majors.
Since 2014, the Theatre TCU BFA Musical Theatre and Acting majors have been journeying to New York City over Spring Break to step in to the professional world of theater. During this trip they take workshops with top casting directors, getting feedback on their audition material and learning valuable industry skills, as well as performing in several showcases for agents and other industry professionals in hopes of landing representation or auditions. Our reputation is growing quickly in NYC and these trips are helping many students each year to begin their careers with connections and representation.
Getting to NYC and staying in the Theatre District for four nights, as well as securing of the casting directors for workshops is expensive. With the limited resources of these 4th year students, it is essential that we get some backing to help offset the various expenses and give these students the same opportunity that the students before them experienced.
