About us

We are a 2.5 form entry Church of England Infant School for children aged 4-7 years and are situated in Brentwood, Essex. Starting school is an important step in every person's life and we aim to offer every child who comes here the best possible start to their education so that they want to achieve as much as they can.

What do we want?

We would like to raise money to buy 4 iPads, to be used across the school to support the children's learning in a variety of subjects.

Who is this for?

All the children in Reception and Key Stage 1.

Why do we want it?

Initially we are planning to use the iPads to help support the teaching and learning of key speaking and listening skills that children are increasingly finding difficult. We plan to download the green screen app by Do Ink to provide the children with opportunities to create their own videos. They will plan their presentations, practice projecting their voices and learn to edit their videos. Their work will support learning in other areas of the curriculum as well, such as geography when creating weather reports or history when making a news report about The Great Fire of London. There are other educational apps that we are interested in too, which are not available on android devices and so we are keen to purchase iPads.

4 x iPad 9.7 128GB @ £409 https://www.apple.com/uk/ipad-9.7/

Total = £1,472.40 (incl VAT* & delivery) with an education discount.

Our longer term goal, will be to continue to try and raise more money so that we can build up to owning a class set of iPads. This will mean that they could be used regularly to further enhance our curriculum and provide the children with even more exciting and varied learning opportunities.
