I am raising money to go out as a student missionary! I have sent out my call and am currently waiting to hear back from the school. I will be leaving to go to the 10/40 window in August. The 10/40 window consists of North Africa, Middle-East, and South-East Asia. The majority of these people are Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist. It is home to the largest amount of unreached people and I have the opportunity to share my Christian beliefs with them.

I have agreed to raise $3,400 for Southern's Student Missions program. The funds we raise will help cover our airfare, visas, insurance training, and care packages. I am excited to serve as a student missionary. Will you help me reach my goal? Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciate by the 2018-19 student missionaries, the people we will serve, and also myself.

Sydney Litchfield

I am a freshman at Southern Adventist University. My life has consisted of pretty much staying in the same town, Chattanooga, TN. I have been blessed with a great God-fearing family and have benefited from them so much. I have dealt with hardships and tough times, but every time God has lifted me out of it. God has provided the way for me and has protected me so much. All I can do now is fully give my life to Him and this is the best way I can. I have felt His call to go out to the mission field and cannot wait to see what He has in store for me!

My story

I have always loved missions. My first mission trip was a domestic trip to Oklahoma to do tornado cleanup, and after that I went to Nicaragua twice to work at a disabled orphanage and cleanup the adventist school. When I came back from these mission trips I just knew this is what God has called me to do. I have never been happier until I am out spreading the word of God. I understand that I can do that here and I do, but now that I have the opportunity to spread God's love to people who may not have heard it before.

God has sent people into my life and they have helped shape me into who I am today. Throughout high school I didn't have many close friends, but then one girl I was sort of friends with invited me to come on a mission trip with her with our youth group. That was the trip to Nicaragua and it changed my life. After that trip, God inspired me through the people on the trip with me and through the kids at the school we helped at. He showed me that this is the type of thing I need to do with my life, reach to those who do not really know much of Him. At the time I didn't even know much about God, but over the course of the past few years, He has taught me so much.

Missions has become part of my journey with God and is something I look forward to continue doing later in my life. Right now I have been presented to that the opportunity to go spread the message He provided us. Whatever happens, happens according to His will and I will continue to praise Him no matter what.

Now I just need a way to get there!
