EKTA work towards helping UMBC's Indian students settle into the environment, ease their transition process by conducting webinars and Q&A's, and help them with navigate campus. We also share the beauty of Indian culture across geographical boundaries and welcome people from other cultures.
India has a huge cultural diversity across all states and Diwali is one of the festivals which is celebrated by the entire country. Through this festival we hope to engage all Indian students to come and rejoice in this auspicious occasion. Diwali Dhamaka at UMBC fosters unity in diversity by representing multiple cultures in one country and spreads the message of strength and cultural awareness across campus. In today's society it is especially important to know and understand each others cultural background.
Our event budget includes:
Lights and sound: $1,200
Booking the UC Ballroom (including tables and chairs): $1,200
Food: $1,500
Banner and posters: $300
Last year we were able to raise $1,010, just short of our $3,500 goal by $2,490. This year, we have some seed funding but we still need to raise $3,500. We hope we can count on your support to reach this year's goal. Every gift makes a difference and gets us closer to reaching the goal to help ensure Diwali 2019 will be an outstanding festival.
Your donation will truly make a difference and help in this event's success. If you feel someone else can help, please share this information with them! We truly appreciate everyone's effort in learning more about us and supporting this event. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.
Please join us for Diwali Dhamaka 2019 on Sunday, November 10, 2019, and help us make this event possible!
