Hello!

Unitenepal.org is a social enterprise with the vision of 'Uniting the global community' to generate innovative solutions for long term infrastructural development in Nepal. It is a platform where people can share their ideas and expertise, collaborate, fund and implement those ideas via sustainable projects. My team members and myself are MDX students and graduates. We were all born and raised in Nepal and following the devastating series of earthquakes that hit our country Nepal recently we felt a sense of patriotic obligation to do something about it. Although the global response in terms of relief and donations was quite generous, sadly it wasn't enough. As Nepal was already one of the poorest countries in the world, the earthquake has further crumbled the economy and left the country mourning and weak. Just a small fraction of the devastation to one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites in the capital city can be seen below.

A detailed record of the physical damage has been documented by the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-32479909.

In terms of start-up funding for UniteNepal, we need a minimum of £1300 to cover the costs of developing our website and platform further and in order to market UniteNepal to the global community for the first 2 years of our social enterprise's existence. If we hit this, the funds will be used as follows:

  • Developing Costs - £500 (includes web hosting server fees £240, copyright registration fees £65 and web administration fees £195)
  • Marketing Costs - £800 (includes PPC fees, online media campaigns, physical promotion and events)

If we are able to achieve our overall funding target, the extra funds raised will go towards implementing the first project that we generate through the platform.

REWARDS:

We will also provide rewards to show our appreciation to our sponsors.  Additionally, we will make sure our sponsors are registered on our website so that they can log in and check out the content, create their own content if they want and get updates on our upcoming activities and projects.

In summary, we would like your help building and developing UniteNepal so our platform can serve towards the recovery and rebuilding of our torn nation. If you can't support us financially, you can still help by sharing our project on social media and encouraging people to register on our website and contribute in some way, be it financially or through the provision of their expertise. Our website is still under development but you can check it out - here is the link http://unitenepal.org/

So let us unite and help rebuild Nepal!
