What Do Bears Eat? is a new comedy being produced by the University of Manchester

Featuring a cast and crew entirely made of students means that any financial aid is incredibly helpful.

Synopsis

A woman, a bear, some cub-support money and questionable morals: What Do Bears Eat? is an irreverent, bizarre and satirical take on the relationship between man and nature. When a woman decides to relocate the forest, she doesn't quite know what she's in for. Much to her surprise, the animals in the forest talk, go on adventures and even debate the finer points of existentialism. She finds herself co-habituating with a bear, even though the other animals warn her otherwise. He can't be that bad though, can he?

Can he?

Where will the money go?

The majority of the money will go into creating the elaborate sets and costumes needed to create the world of the play and to make our actors look like animals. We are looking into having costumes custom made but this can only be done with sufficient funds. After this has been paid for, any extra funds will go towards our accommodation at the fringe.
