Help Chiya compete at the 2014 Softball World Championships

Hi there, my name is Chiya Louie and I am the shortstop for the Great Britain Women's Fastpitch Softball Team. We have qualified for the elite Softball World Championships (the Olympics of softball). Even though I have played softball for nearly 25 years, it will be the biggest tournament I have ever played in, a dream come true. This prestigious tournament is in Europe for the first time in history, August 15-24. The pride of representing Great Britain is immense and the love I feel for this team is overwhelming, please help Team GB make history by supporting us this year.

I have dedicated my life to softball and it is such an honour to play at the highest level, amongst the best in the world. By donating to my project, you can help me achieve my dream. Home Run

The million dollar question

Why would a National team ask for personal donations to the biggest tournament in the world? Our sad issue is that since softball was cut from the London 2012 Olympics, we have to fund ourselves to play the sport we love for our nation. Our team relies (survives) on generous donations from fans, friends and family.

Your donation will help with Travel & Accommodation, Tournament Fees, Team Staff and Physio, Kit, Training Camp and all expenses needed to allow me to represent Team GB Softball.

Money isn't everything, other ways to help

We know not everyone will be able to offer financial help, but there are still ways that you could contribute to the project. Please click the ‘I want to help’ button above if you are happy to help share with as many people as possible.

Another way to help is buying a softball top. A portion of the sale goes towards the project.

We also sell GB Softball wristbands at tournaments across the UK, keep an eye out and wear them with pride.

I'm also running softball coaching sessions for London softball leagues, including beginners and "Ladies Only" training. Please email me to find out more.
