You’ll be supporting students like Nicholas. This is what he told us about the difference an Emergency Student Support Fund award has made to him…
"With this, I’ve been able to not only purchase food and toiletries for myself, but I’ve been able to help my mother and my four year old brother. The residual has also allowed me to purchase learning material for my course, as well as materials for my brother in order to teach him things he will be missing out on as he cannot attend nursery. I feel that it’s important to recognise that no matter how hard some individuals work, if you’re not from a privileged background a reduction in pay or loss of just one pay cheque can mean going hungry, missing rent/mortgage payments and payments for other necessities. The fund has directly assisted myself and my family in this occasion as my mother’s hours have been reduced. This has been such a wonderful and unexpected help - it has given us the opportunity to ensure we can stock up on foods and other essentials. My family and I could not be more grateful for this assistance and are all extremely thankful to the fund donors. Having benefited from this myself, I hope that I’m in a position to do something similar in future.”
Anything you can donate or raise will go directly towards ensuring that coronavirus has minimal disruption on students' learning by supporting students facing unexpected financial challenges due to the escalating response to the virus. Please donate today to support students like Nicholas. Your support will go to the students most affected by coronavirus, including care leavers, estranged students, medical and nursing students, and students with children or caring responsibilities.
